Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Education

  • BA - Biology & Economics, Bryn Mawr College, PA 2007
  • PhD - Environment Economics, Duke University, NC, 2013

I am an associate professor at the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics. Prior to OSU, I was a postdoc at The Nature Conservancy.

My work is at the intersection of environment and development economics. I specialize in quantifying the causal impacts of interventions in terms of environmental (e.g. deforestation) and socio-economic outcomes (poverty, health, adoption of practices) and monetizing the value of benefits people get from the natural environment (e.g., disease mitigation, water purification, fuelwood collection).
